From Principal's Desk Dear Eagle Family,
We have began the school year at North Clayton High with energy and great anticipation for a strong academic year!.
We have a group of new freshmen and other students who have transferred to North Clayton, as well as a strong group of returning Eagles. There were also several faculty changes to our NCHS family. We have a very talented group of new teachers entering their first year at North Clayton High and they are very capable of challenging our students to achieve at very high levels.
I am entering my first full year as Principal and I hope to be a positive change agent for years to come. Dr. Charles Gilchrist is beginning his first full year as Assistant Principal at North Clayton High School and will pilot the only on-campus dual enrollment program in Clayton County. We are partnering with Georgia Military College to implement this endeavor. Mrs. Green is the returning assistant principal, and she is entering her 4th year at North Clayton High School. She is responsible for the 9th graders and the return of our Freshmen Academy, which will better serve our Freshmen class, as they transition into high school. Ms. Shanika Wells returns as our Instructional Site Facilitator and will work closer with our teachers to improve instruction and student learning.
Beginning in November, we will implement our Flexible Learning Program. The program will focus on the Math needs of the students that data has revealed need the most assistance. Members of the North Clayton High School faculty/staff will be making contact with the parents of these students.
Additionally, we have begun Saturday School and 8th Period classes. If your student(s) are participating in either opportunity, please review the expectations of attendance, punctuality, and proper behavior with them. These are credit recovery opportunities and students must meet all requirements and expectations in order to remain in those classes and be successful.
The Proud Principal of North Clayton High School
